Pope Francis has been one of the most forward-thinking of popes that we have had in the recent past. The man has changed a lot of catholic tradition.

Pope Francis has already upended many catholic traditions from areas like: 1. Latin language usage in the church, 2. Shifting the Catholic church from being an absolute monarchy, 3. Dealing with the terrible history the Catholic church has had with Antisemitism, 4. Dealing with issues of natural law when it comes to human sexuality, 5. Lastly, the issue of confession which is  scary place for most Catholics.

But his next target may be one too many for the Catholic church. The reason is, that what he wants may mean re-writing lines in the text of the Bible, which for most Christians is sacrosanct. The Pope called for a translation of a phrase about temptation in the Lord’s Prayer to be changed. The current wording that says “lead us not into temptation” is not a good translation because God does not lead humans to sin, he says.
