A football match in Kiambu turned tragic when a pastor, who was playing, collapsed and died.

According to residents, Pastor Peter Wakaba (pictured below) had gone to play football with his teammates at Ndumberi Stadium in Kiambu.

It is alleged that minutes after the match started, the pastor, who was in high spirits suddenly collapsed and died.

“Everything happened so fast. He was physically fit and nobody thought that this could happen. We were all shocked. He was a humble man who was adored by people due to his love for football,” Samuel Karoki  told The Nairobian.

Wakaba, who was a pastor at PEFA church Ndumberi ward was playing for Rising Stars, a football club based in Kiambu.

His teammates told The Nairobian that Wakaba loved football  and was always scouting for talent among the youth.
