She now had to deal both with getting well from her cancer, and caring for her new pregnancy, considered high-risk. Finally, on December 30, Kayla gave birth to three boys and one girl by C-section, at 30 weeks. She calls her delivery a “miracle.”
A month before giving birth, an exam revealed her cancer had returned. Kayla and Charles are nevertheless optimistic, and taking their lives one step at a time. “God must have a plan for us,” she said.
