StarTimes Kenya trip to China KungFu competition finalists

KungFu festival, organized by Startimes to celebrate the KungFu Channel  5^thanniversary , is expected to take place on the 5^th of November at the KICC COMESA grounds between 10am and 6pm where KungFu proffesionals will showcase their talents. This will also be a family fun day to be graced by music heavy weights including Jose Chameleon from Uganda, Jua Cali, Timmy T Dat, Gloria Muliro. The entry is FREE.

StarTimes plans to sponsor three Kenya KungFu experts for an all paid expense trip to China for a week of training at the Beijing International Arts School in December. The challenge was simple: one was to take a video of them doing their best KungFu moves and post online.

We got the participants from our online platforms as well as visiting  different KungFu groups in Kenya and gave them the same challenge. The KungFu groups we visited include: Jingle Club in Muthurwa, Kiambu Wushu KungFu in Kiambu, Kenya KungFu Wushu College in Muthurwa, Black Beltz Solutions Wingchun in Kayole and finally White Walls based in Kangemi.

Out of all those who participated, 51 of them have qualified for the second round of auditions which  will be held this coming Saturday, on the 29^th of October, at the Kiambu Madaraka gardens where the next ten best candidates will be picked.

These ten candidates will then give a final performance during the actual kungfu festival event, to be held on the 5^th of November at the KICC COMESA grounds and the top three candidates will be the winners for an all-expense paid trip to China for a week of training at the Beijing International Arts School in the month of December.
