3. Pride
Entitlement, arrogance and self-sufficiency are all extensions of pride. James 4:6 says to us, “But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.'”
If God opposes our pride then it becomes very hard to allow His infinite abundance to breakthrough.
4. Misplaced Security
Where does your security lie in most? Is it in God? Or has your finances, your career, or maybe even the opinions of your peers taken God’s place as highest security? I admit that there may be days that God is not my highest security, and we all might still be a work in progress in this area. But the more we make God our security, the more He will prove to be more than sufficient.
5. Earthly Desires
Galatians 5:16 says, “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”
God’s Spirit is what brings desirable fruits and gifts, but when we walk in the flesh, we go against God’s Spirit. The more we are removed of our earthly desires, the more God pours in His Spirit that brings life and life to the full.
