Tanzanian superstar Ali Kiba has many titles that give hommage to his talent as a singer and pure mastery of his craft but being called a god is not one of them.
This became evident after Kiba refused the praise from one of his fans who had branded him the god of Bongo Flava.
A visibly irked Kiba responded that he would not want to be called a god because it went against his faith.
“Naomba msiniite hivyo siwezi kuwa wala siwezi kukubali imani yetu haturuhusu kujiita au kuitwa na mtu yoyote ule jina la MUUMBA,” wrote Kiba on Instagram.
Ali Saleh Kiba is a devout Muslim better known by his stage name AliKiba.
Despite having a sold out calendar each year he is known not to perform in any day that coincides with the Islamic calendar such as Ramadhan.
The Tanzanian recording artist, singer-songwriter owns the Rockstar4000 label and on 2016, signed with Sony Music Entertainment.
