The preacher is said to have made move to reconcile the two, telling them it’s against the Bible for man and wife to fight in public.
According to the prosecution, the irate Ndichu could not hear any of that and instead turned on the preacher, telling him off. The preacher pressed on, annoying the man, who attacked him for meddling in a private matter.
They duo rushed to the nearby Makongeni police to report the case, where the preacher’s friend further claimed to have lost his open shoes and a wrist watch all valued at Sh3,000.
Upon making their reports at the station, the accused was then pursued by police officers who arrested him. When charged at Makadara Law Courts, the accused denied all the charges of assault on the duo, accusing the police of holding him for more than required 24 hours after arrest for no apparent reason.
He was later set free on a Sh20,000 cash bail. The case will be mentioned in two weeks’ time when the area OCS will be expected in court over allegations of holding the accused for more than required time before presenting him before a court.
