They referred her to another health facility in Malindi for further medical attention, but the transport that was supposed to take her there reportedly took so long to arrive.

Guyato succumbed to her injuries on the way to the next hospital. Her family accused staff at the county hospital for negligence. The hospital has denied the allegations.
