A Florida man is facing fraud charges after making illegal bank transfers of over $7 million. In his defense, he says he did it because Jesus Christ wanted him to be rich. He faces up to five years in jail plus huge fines.
A man in Florida, US, is facing fraud charges after illegally transferring over $7 million from several banks to unspecified accounts.
John Michael Haskey, who made the illegal transfers in December last year, claims that “Jesus created wealth for everyone” and was therefore only taking what Jesus had preordained for him.
John also brags that he taught himself the secrets and inner workings of the US banking industry through experimentation.
However, John faces up to five years in jail for his crime as well as huge fines, if convicted. He has reportedly entered into a plea bargain.
Reports also indicate that he is unemployed and owes the government money.
