She added:
“There is this thing called roller, you stretch it down and it cuts the belly fat. Apparently, it was killing my back nerves. One morning I woke up and I couldn’t walk or do anything for myself. Things became tough for me.”
After about two years, her dad passed away. Her mum struggled to make the singer’s life better. During her final year in high school, she starved for lack of food in school.
“After some few years, I lost my dad. My mum raised four children and she had to sell charcoal and choma maindi on the road to sustain us. She couldn’t afford school fees for me. The teachers told me they would only give me an opportunity to be in school but you cannot eat in school. My friends used to share the food with me and sometimes I could go without.”
Evelyn revealed this during an interview with Amina Abadi on The Trend.
