“This plot and others around here were initially owned by a self-help group, but along the way, NSSF started disposing some of them,” Mose told The Nairobian.
She added that, “In fact, we have written to NSSF several times concerning the matter until they sent a surveyor, who confirmed we have been living here since 2002 and even developed the place. Manyuru however claims he bought the plot in 2006 from NSSF”.
The family says Manyuru showed up with a letter similar to theirs, only that it was allocated at a different time.
“Following the dispute and directions by the surveyor, NSSF wrote to the preacher saying that he had been allocated the plot by mistake, and that he will be refunded his money,” claims Mose.
Margaret’s family claims the value of damaged property is well over Sh300,000, which is why they decided to report the matter to the police and sue for malicious damage.

The OCPD told The Nairobian that the matter could not be rushed to court since they are yet to complete investigations as both parties have tabled documents showing that they are rightful owners of the property.
