Polycarp is a funny man, in a different post he narrated how his pal was conned by a sugarcane seller.
He wrote, “One Sunday few weeks back Gikama Wa Mwaura and I were heading back to Nairobi from the voter registration drive in Nyeri after the President retired to Sagana State lodge. It had been a hectic run and we were exhausted. When we got to Kenol, Gikama wanted us to do a quick stop so he could grab a soda. We stopped but he couldn’t find any so he got back into the car.
As we were about to drive off, a guy hawking those tuchopped sugar cane pieces in plastic bags walked by and my friend Gikama decided to buy some to deal with his thirst. He bought two minyore-fuls and we drove off
A few meters on Gikama took a piece of sugar cane, took a bite and then went quiet. He then said slowly, “brother uyu ni waru mwithi” (these are raw potatoes bro, not cane). I took the plastic bags and sure enough inside the plastic bags were chopped up pieces of peeled potato.
I hurt my ribs laughing that day, they’ve never recovered!”
