Former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru has defended musician Jimmy Gait from online bullies that have been mauling the singer online. Waiguru has herself been a victim of onine trolls having been forced from office by media wars following the debacle that hit her ministry a few years ago. Waiguru revealed that she had even stoppped watching TV and reading papers in order to detox from the hateful, snide comments.
Cyber-bullying has of late become a national malady as more and more celebrities and public figures have fallen prey to the carnivorous appetite of the Internet trolls.
Slowly, what started as a joke on Twitter, fronted by the vicious #KOT (Kenyans on Twitter) has now metamorphosed into some malignant cancer that is threatening careers and even public profiles of victims.
And now, one of the most affected victims of Kenya’s runaway cyber bullying has opened up on her own experience at the hands of a malicious Twitter and Facebook constituency.
